GB Regulation and Policy Manager

Field has entered its next phase of growth. In June, the UK energy regulator, Ofgem, selected 16 long-duration energy storage projects to progress to delivery. Field were awarded five of these. Collectively, in MWh terms, our projects are approximately double the capacity of all battery energy storage installed in the UK to date. We currently have 4 projects totalling over 1GWh of energy storage in construction in GB with lots more delivery to do. We’re proud of the work we’ve been doing in the policy and regulation space.  Field’s leadership on the oversubscription of batteries following grid connection reform has resulted in CUSC Modification Proposal CMP 470 being recommended to Ofgem in quick time.  Our work on this is one example of Field’s vision to be “code makers; not code takers”. Your Mission  You will shape energy regulation and policy to enable Field to deliver our ambitious projects - in turn delivering value for energy consumers and driving decarbonisation. You will identify areas of regulation which act as a barrier to our projects, prioritise the most impactful, and work with the regulator, Government departments and the System Operator to deliver real change. A key focus will be on developing regulation required to deliver long duration energy storage projects, alongside pursuing other areas of reform needed to support such projects, including the Government-led Reformed National Pricing package. You will report to the Global Regulation and Policy Lead, Andrew Enzor, working autonomously to drive forward high-value change for Field. Andrew is a long-standing CUSC panel member and authority on transmission and distribution charging.  He previously led Cornwall Insight’s consultancy team.
