Full Time - Financial Aid Director

Job Summary Serves as the District team lead for Financial Aid, Scholarships, Return of Title IV, and Veteran Services. Provides leadership and oversight to ensure financial aid and student support processes are compliant with federal, state, and institutional regulations while maintaining efficient, effective, and student-centered operations. Recruits, hires, trains, and develops team members to deliver high-quality service to students and parents. Oversees a broad range of financial aid and student support functions, including loan processing, ISIR loading and processing, TASFAA student processing, financial aid communications through email, chat, social media, and text messaging, state and federal financial aid awarding, professional judgment reviews, internal and external scholarship administration, athletic scholarship awards, Hazlewood benefits, and VA educational benefit processing. Principal Accountabilities Develops, in conjunction with the Dean of Financial Aid, the evaluation, planning, organization, and implementation of departmental policies, processes, activities, and other functions to maintain compliance, efficiency, and productivity. This includes setting up Banner and any other systems that process financial aid, reporting for state and federal requirements, setting up all processes for Financial Aid/VSO/Scholarships. Oversee the processes for all student loans and awards, manage all scholarship funds, review and manage the loading of FAFSA data, oversee all department related emails, social media, and texting, and work with the Veteran Services Office to process state and federal veteran education benefits. Specifically processes and manages all Return of Title IV, Federal Work study, verification, indexing document images to student accounts, awarding, and all state and federal veteran educational benefits. Manage the scholarship application process for all competitive budgeted academic scholarships (exemplary, Band, Choir, Theatre, Livestock Judging, etc.) and Endowed Scholarships. Ensure that all endowed scholarship funds are awarded, disbursed, and expended according to scholarship requirements. Maintain current knowledge of federal, state, and institutional policies and regulations that govern student employment, scholarships, loans, and other financial aid programs and veteran education benefits. Write and test Argos reports for all Financial Aid, veteran services, and scholarships. Develop, maintain, and utilize email processes in Argos and Banner Communication Manager. Write Banner SQL code and algorithms necessary to maximize Banner automation. Write SQL code to use in SQL Developer, and in UC4 and to provide to IT. Produce and develop financial aid videos using various software. Advise students and review requests for professional judgments such as dependency overrides, income adjustments, homeless situations, or other unusual and extenuating circumstances that fall outside of the “normal” financial aid spectrum. Review documentation such as C flag, Pell lifetime limits, unusual enrollment, and additional situations that require additional review for students’ accounts. Supervise the Assistant Directors and Managers and train staff.Maintain full capability to stand in for the Dean of Financial Aid as needed. Performs other related tasks as assigned.
