Integrity: Hold ourselves to the highest moral standards, admit when we fall short, and then evolve.  GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:   The Financial Analyst, Licensing & Royalties is responsible for managing, analyzing, and reporting royalty and licensing revenue and expenses across a global portfolio of brands, products, and strategic partnerships . This role ensures accurate calculation, payment, collection, and reconciliation of royalty obligations while providing financial insights that support licensing strategy, contract compliance, forecasting, and profitability analysis.   The ideal candidate combines strong financial analysis skills with contract interpretation capabilities and possesses experience working with complex royalty agreements, including master licensing and representative agreements with global licensing agencies, revenue-sharing arrangements, and collaborations . The candidate should also have experience using BrandComply o r similar licensing enterprise software platform .    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES :   Calculate and validate royalty revenues and expenses in accordance with licensing agreements.   Review and interpret licensing contracts to ensure accurate application of royalty rates, guarantees, advances, deductions, and payment terms.   Prepare and process royalty accruals, settlements, invoices, and payment schedules.   Investigate and resolve discrepancies related to reported sales, usage metrics, royalty calculations, and payments.   Develop monthly, quarterly, and annual royalty reporting to analyze trends and contract performance and identify risks and opportunities .   Prepare ad hoc analyses supporting strategic decision-making and business development initiatives.   Develop and maintain forecasts and annual planning models for licensing and royalty revenues and expenses, incorporating contract terms, royalty rates, sales projections, minimum guarantees, and other key deal assumptions to support financial planning and decision-making.   Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and internal financial policies.   Support royalty audit activities and coordinate responses to external auditors, licensors, and licensees.   Partner cross-functionally to interpret contracts, resolve financial issues, provide guidance on financial implications of proposed deals, and support management with performance metrics and recommendations to optimize licensing revenues   REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS :   Bachelor's degree in Finance , Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or related field .   3- 4 years of experience in financial analysis, royalty accounting, licensing finance, revenue accounting, or related disciplines.   Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including pivot tables, lookups, financial modeling, and data analysis.   Strong understanding of financial statements, accrual accounting, and revenue recognition principles.   Experience reviewing and interpreting contractual financial terms.   Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.   Strong written and verbal communication abilities .   Experience in media, entertainment, publishing, consumer products, software, gaming, retail, fashion, sports, or intellectual property-based businesses preferred.   Knowledge of royalty management systems and ERP platforms including Workday and Brand Comply is a plus .   CPA, CFA, or progress toward certification is a plus.   COMPENSATION: Pay Rate: $90,000 - $100,000 / Annually The advertised pay scale reflects the good faith minimum and maximum salary range for this role. Location Requirements At time of employment, employees are expected to be located within commuting distance of the Museum. “Commuting distance” means that they are located in one of following states: New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, or Pennsylvania (the “Tri-state and PA” areas), and be able to commute to and from the Museum in a single day.
