Financial Analyst - Finance - Sharp Chula Vista Medical Center - Day Shift - Full Time

Hours : Shift Start Time: 8:30 AM Shift End Time: 5 PM AWS Hours Requirement: 8/40 - 8 Hour Shift Additional Shift Information: Start time as early as 0700 or as late as 0900 Weekend Requirements: As Needed On-Call Required: No Hourly Pay Range (Minimum - Midpoint - Maximum): $42.790 - $55.210 - $61.840 The stated pay scale reflects the range that Sharp reasonably expects to pay for this position.  The actual pay rate and pay grade for this position will be dependent on a variety of factors, including an applicant’s years of experience, unique skills and abilities, education, alignment with similar internal candidates, marketplace factors, other requirements for the position, and employer business practices.   What You Will Do To enhance the operation of Sharp Chula Vista Medical Center and the budget/financial analysis department by assisting the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in the preparation of the annual operating budget and analysis of financial performance. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related business field, or equivalent experience in a healthcare environment. Experience in the use of microcomputer financial applications, especially Excel. Prior microcomputer financial applications experience. Preferred Qualifications 3 Years accounting or finance with background in healthcare. Essential Functions Assist with special projects Assists CFO on special projects or duties as assigned. These projects are performed within deadlines established by the CFO. Standard is to have reports prepared accurately and on time with no more than two exceptions per year. Budget preparation Assist in the preparation and consolidation of departmental operating budgets according to budget calendar. Data collection and reporting Prepares the monthly ASR report and trend statistics per agreed upon calendar. Standard is to have report prepared accurately and on time with no more than two finance generated exceptions per year. Financial performance analysis Assists in the preparation of the monthly expense variance analysis. Problem resolution Investigate and research issues or questions brought to finance's attention by management in regard to their departments. These are resolved within 1-3 days. Meeting the standard is to achieve the assigned task. Reporting Cross-trained with service line analyst regarding the use of the cost accounting system (TSI). Able to generate reports from the system. Standard is to have basic knowledge. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Math skills to solve and analyze accounting problems; calculate percentages and per unit values; calculate variances and percentage increase and decreases. Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with all levels of personnel as well as outside agencies. Knowledge of healthcare accounting systems, terminology and statistical reporting.
