At Xylem, you will have the opportunity to solve water by participating in our paid Volunteer Program, Xylem Watermark!    THE ROLE:   The   Level 1   Field   Technician will be responsible for   start-up and   commissioning of   projects, preventative maintenance,   and basic   submersible wastewater   pump   (Flygt)   and control panel troubleshoot ing   at   customer site s.    Product specific training will be provided.    Will   interact with customer s .    We offer a full benefits package to include 4 WEEKS Paid Time Off (PTO) for hourly positions, health, dental, vision, investment savings plan, and other additional miscellaneous benefits.    CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:   To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily   after sufficient training   provided .      Evaluate ,   repair , and conduct   hydraulic , mechanical,   and electrical testing of   submersible wastewater pumps   Basic troubleshooting of electrical control panels   Basic understanding of schematics and wiring diagrams   Assist with start-ups and emergency   call-outs   Operating   and maintaining a   service truck   with crane and out-riggers   Operating industrial equipment in a shop environment such as forklift, overhead cranes, etc.   Working with various   company   provided hand and power tools   Accurate record keeping   inside   Xylem’s work order management system   Create and maintain   a   safe   and organized   working environment and culture within the organization   and following protocols at customer locations   Take care of company property    Demonstrates   high   impact   culture through innovation, accountability and empowerment    Must be able to function in a team environment    Usually   works   with direct supervision but can work independently if needed    Travel Requirements:    Daily   local   travel   required   Up to 50%   overnight stays , depending on location     Prehire requirements to operate company vehicle   (provided by Xylem or   candidate) :   Driver Application for Employment    Motor Vehicle Report (MVR)    Driver Disclosure and Release    Employee Applicant Drug and Alcohol Statement    FMCSA Certificate of Awareness    Driver Certificate of Violations    Driver Statement of On Duty Hours   – if applicable   Road Test    Copy of Driver’s License    Copy of Medical Certificate    QUALIFICATIONS:    Education Requirements    HS diploma or equivalent    Experience Requirements:    0 to 2 years of technical work experience, 1 year preferred    Skill Requirements:    Electrical ly and mechanically inclined   Demonstrates critical thinking and troubleshooting ability    Comprehend   technical information and   communicate   it clearly    Experience with Microsoft Office   and   smart devices    DAY IN THE LIFE:    In this role, the working environment   is   frequently outdoors at customer locations   or in   an industrial shop   setting   where   use of PPE   is required.  May also include e xposure to   various environmental factors,   hazardous material s, including sewage ,   and   loud noise s.    T he physical demands may include but not limited to   driving,   standing ,   possible exposure to heights   and   lifting up   to   50   lbs ,     In   addition, this role may   require   overtime   and travel.     SALARY:   The estimated salary range for this position is $32.19   to $42.02 . Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience and work location, and is not typically at the top of the range.
