Position Summary/Objective: To efficiently supervise and manage a computerized feed manufacturing facility that mixes and processes ingredients to customer specified formulations and quality guidelines in a manner that maximizes departmental effectiveness and achieves the cooperative’s goals. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:  Include but are not limited to the following: Management Manages costs within budget. Responsible for hiring, training (Dekra), and scheduling facility employees. Supervises the operation of computerized batch mixing equipment, receiving and load-out equipment, micro-ingredient addition, and grinding equipment. Maintains inventory of bag and bulk products at desired levels. Accountable for maintaining shrink within Coop guidelines. Safety Maintains a safe work environment as outlined by NEW Cooperative’s policies and procedures. Manages the work area, checks for hazards and corrects/reports unsafe conditions. Uses all tools, equipment, and vehicles carefully and for their intended use. Complies with all required manufacturing and regulatory controls. Communication Communicates with fleet supervisor on daily needs and days off requests for driver/operator. Maintain communication concerning grain quality and available inventory. Documentation Fulfills all reporting and record-keeping requirements. Familiar with FSMA and the current good manufacturing practices. Responsible for drug and inventory reconciliation and ensures that necessary paperwork is completed correctly. Maintenance Administers effective maintenance program of equipment. Ensures that the work area, equipment, and vehicles are all neat, clean, and well maintained. Directs housekeeping duties to maintain a clean working environment. Other Assist in all areas of the location as needed. Basic Employment Expectations:  Safety Performs work safely and uses the appropriate PPE. Follows all safety protocols and seeks advice from supervisor when uncertain. Communication Maintains open communication and cooperates with supervisor, departments, and fellow employees. Communicates with supervisor and others immediately when unexpected problems cause absence, lateness, or the need to leave early. Accountability & Professionalism  Abides by policies set forth in the employee policy manual. Carries a fair share of the workload. Promotes NEW Cooperative through positive, friendly, and professional interactions. Is punctual, follows directives, and works in an efficient and timely manner; accepts personal responsibility for the quality and timeliness of the work. Understands that satisfactory attendance is essential to the efficient operation of the work environment. Customer Service Continually works to satisfy customers to address questions/concerns through effective communication, solving problems, responding to questions, and managing their expectations. Qualifications & Requirements:   Must be licensed and insurable to drive. High school diploma/GED or 1-3 years of related experience. Must have good computer skills and good basic accounting skills. Must be able to operate a forklift safely and effectively. Understand the importance of providing remarkably high levels of customer service. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Must be able to interact and effectively communicate with customers and individuals at all levels of the organization. Possesses problem solving capability and understands the operational processes.
