Job Details The Environmental Services Aide is responsible for performing a variety of cleaning and sanitation duties throughout the facility. Duties may include cleaning patient or resident rooms, offices, hallways, bathrooms, common areas, and other assigned spaces. The aide sweeps, mops, vacuums, dusts, empties trash, and disinfects frequently touched surfaces. Environmental Services Aides must properly use cleaning chemicals, equipment, and personal protective equipment (PPE) according to facility policies and safety guidelines. They are also responsible for keeping cleaning supplies and equipment organized and reporting safety hazards, maintenance concerns, or supply shortages to their supervisor. The position requires attention to detail, reliability, good communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. The aide should be able to follow instructions and maintain a professional and respectful attitude when interacting with patients, residents, visitors, and other employees. Previous experience in housekeeping, healthcare, hospitality, or environmental services may be helpful, although training may be provided. The job may require standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting, pushing, and pulling for extended periods.
