Collins Aerospace is hiring an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) professional to support our dynamic manufacturing campus in Cedar Rapids, IA.  I n this role you will act as a focal point for facilities and maintenance, construction, and contractor safety management, supporting a variety of projects across multiple buildings in the Cedar Rapids area. In addition, you will also support the broader EHS team by collaborating with Facilities, Maintenance, Engineering, Operations, and cross-functional project teams to ensure safe, compliant, and well-coordinated EHS activities throughout a highly active and diverse manufacturing environment. This is an onsite role in Cedar rapids and may be eligible for relocation. What You Will Do  Provide EHS support for management of change, contractor management, construction projects, and facility modifications, ensuring hazards are identified and controlled throughout the lifecycle of the work. Partner with Facilities, Maintenance, Operations, Engineering, and other functional teams to identify and mitigate EHS risks associated with manufacturing, maintenance, construction, and facility activities. Provide technical support and oversight for high-risk EHS programs, including LOTO, work at heights, hot work, powered industrial vehicles, hoists, cranes, and rigging, confined space, electrical safety, and machine guarding. Conduct field observations, risk assessments, inspections, and program reviews to identify opportunities for risk reduction and improve safety performance. Partner with employees and leaders to investigate incidents, identify contributing factors, and implement sustainable corrective actions. Support the development and delivery of EHS training and communication to employees, leaders, contractors, and other stakeholders. Promote a proactive safety culture by applying Human and Organizational Performance (HOP) principles and engaging employees in identifying and solving safety challenges. Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, company standards, and EHS management systems. Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives that improve the safety, health, and environmental performance of the site. Networking opportunities, connecting with industry experts, attending conferences, expand professional network.  Qualifications You Must Have   Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience OR an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience. Experience in Environmental, Health and Safety, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field. Demonstrated ability to identify workplace hazards, assess risk, and develop practical risk-reduction solutions. Ability to interpret and apply applicable EHS regulations, company standards, and procedures. Qualifications We Prefer Professional experience supporting Facilities, Maintenance, Construction, or Project Management activities. Experience with Management of Change and Contractor Management/Contractor Safety Management. Experience developing, implementing, or managing high-risk EHS programs, including: Lockout/Tagout, Work at Heights/Fall Protection, Hot Work, Powered Industrial Vehicles, Hoists, Cranes, and Rigging, Confined Space, Electrical Safety, Machine Guarding. Experience conducting risk assessments, job hazard analyses, field inspections, and incident investigations. Familiarity with Human and Organizational Performance (HOP) principles and a learning-focused approach to safety. Experience working in a manufacturing, aerospace, industrial, or similarly complex environment. Professional EHS certification such as CSP, ASP, CIH, CPE, or equivalent. Experience working with regulatory agencies and interpreting OSHA requirements.
