Shift: The regular hours for this position are day shift. Job Description: The Engineering Technician is responsible for developing, executing, and improving work processes that support new product development and manufacturing operations within a semiconductor technology environment. This role partners closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to conduct experiments, operate specialized equipment, analyze data, troubleshoot process issues, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. The successful candidate will utilize technical expertise to support development activities, maintain process documentation, perform equipment maintenance and qualification activities, and help ensure the production of high-quality customer and experimental units. This position requires a hands-on individual who can work independently while effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams to solve complex manufacturing and process challenges. Key Responsibilities: Process Development & Engineering Support Develop, execute, and improve manufacturing and engineering work processes that support new product development and customer deliverables. Set up and operate probers, test systems, and related equipment to support product development activities and electrical test platforms. Perform experiments and measurements independently, with guidance from engineering, documenting results to ensure conformance with established procedures. Support engineering projects through process characterization, product evaluations, qualification activities, and technology development initiatives. Use lasers, micro-assembly tooling, dispensing systems, and specialized equipment to manufacture customer units and conduct engineering experiments. Manufacturing Support & Troubleshooting Support development and manufacturing operations by troubleshooting process issues and dispositioning non-conforming materials. Investigate manufacturing problems, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions to improve process performance. Provide technical support to production personnel and assist with training on equipment, processes, and procedures. Utilize Statistical Process Control (SPC) and other analytical tools to monitor process performance and improve quality, yield, and cycle time. Data Collection & Analysis Collect, organize, analyze, and interpret process, equipment, and product data to support engineering decision-making. Evaluate experimental results and manufacturing trends, providing written and verbal recommendations to engineers, peers, and management. Generate reports and communicate findings to support process improvements and product development efforts. Documentation & Continuous Improvement Document processes, procedures, and experimental results clearly and accurately. Create, revise, and maintain work instructions, specifications, checklists, defect catalogs, process flows, and manufacturing documentation. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, efficiency, and operational excellence. Assist with the development and implementation of standardized manufacturing processes and best practices. Equipment Maintenance & Qualification Create and maintain preventive maintenance procedures for manufacturing and assembly equipment. Perform scheduled maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repair activities on test equipment, fixtures, and workstations. Conduct equipment checkouts, calibrations, correlations, qualifications, and validation activities. Perform diagnostic testing to verify equipment performance and ensure compliance with established specifications. Monitor equipment health and recommend improvements to maximize uptime, reliability, and performance. Compliance, Safety & Operational Support Ensure adherence to quality standards, operating procedures, and safety requirements. Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment. Support off-shift, weekend, or extended-hour activities as required to meet business and development objectives. Work Environment & Physical Requirements: Role may involve frequent standing, repetitive hand motions, and handling small or delicate components. Work performed primarily in a clean‑room manufacturing setting, requiring adherence to gowning and contamination‑control procedures. May require exposure to chemicals, specialty tools, microscopes, or precision measurement equipment.
