EIT Structural Engineer - Buildings

Overview Kimley-Horn's St. Paul, Minnesota (MN) office is seeking a Structural Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with 1.5+ years of experience to join our growing Building Structures team. If you are a collaborative and creative engineer who enjoys working on a variety of building projects and client types this is the position for you. Responsibilities Develop skills as a project engineer by assisting with the delivery, design, and detailing of projects while working with more senior staff and BIM staff who will coach, guide, and support your growth Perform structural design calculations, plan production activities, and prepare project document submittal packages while working with a larger design team Lead and provide support for structural construction phase efforts on building projects Support your design and collaborate in meetings and presentations with clients, contractors, and design team members Serve as a technical and professional mentor to entry-level and developing engineers Conduct site visits when needed Qualifications ABET accredited Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural/Architectural Engineering, Master’s degree preferred. 1.5+ years of new and existing buildings structural engineering design experience, including the design of concrete, steel, masonry, wood materials Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certificate Knowledge and experience in Revit, with some ability to produce drawings and details, when needed Knowledge and experience in structural analysis and design software, such as RISA, RAM Structural System, E-TABS, MathCAD, TEDDS, ENERCALC and other similar structural related design software Strong sense of urgency and self-discipline to meet client deadlines Detail-oriented team player with an ability to contribute to a positive work environment Ability to multi-task and work on a variety of projects concurrently in a fast-paced environment Passion and demonstrated drive to achieve goals Excellent communication, leadership, and technical skills with a continuous mindset on personal and staff development and ability to grow through feedback Basic understanding of building materials, overall systems and assemblies Salary Range: $85,000 - $110,000 #LI-JH1 Why Kimley-Horn?
