Organization: Life Flight Nursing Education Job Summary: The education coordinator participates in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of training for LifeFlight Communications staff and educational programs that improve the delivery of high-quality service. The education coordinator takes a lead role in providing instruction related to the education of both new hire and experienced communication employees and professional development initiatives utilizing current evidence-based practice. The education coordinator utilizes various teaching strategies, information sources, and evaluation methods to promote an environment of continued learning and professional growth. . Job Description KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for organizing and administering the training program for new as well as existing Communications Specialists. Responsible for developing and documentation of the training process, including the documentation of the performance evaluations for Communications Specialists currently in training. Responsible for developing new training as well as researching and scheduling outside training opportunities for Communications Specialists. Developing continuing education standards for Communications Specialists. Instructs, counsels, and evaluates CTO’s who are training new personnel. Assists in maintaining website that tracks EMS continuing education credits for Communications Specialists. Remain current on all communications equipment and procedural changes, as well as updating all training material to reflect the current environment. TECHNICAL CAPABILITIES Training & Development (Novice): Has presented course modules as part of a program. Effectively prepared by demonstrating knowledge in course content, structure, and objectives, as well as audience characteristics. Demonstrated audience sensitivity and awareness. Responded professionally to content questions. Mentoring & Coaching (Intermediate): Demonstrates good training and mentoring practices on a regular basis. Acts as a mentor to a person in need of support and direction. Makes a concerted effort to seek problem definition so it is clearly understood, clarifying and refining goals, as needed. Knows how to make personal gains apparent, supporting pride in accomplishment. Cites specific examples of conduct and responds to lack of progress in constructive ways. Curriculum Development (Novice): Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to successfully demonstrate curriculum development of moderate difficulty. Can identify learning needs, collect input from consultation and review, plan component courses and their learning outcomes, and plan course delivery, resources, and assessment. Customer Service (Intermediate): Keeps management informed on all aspects of one or more projects. Takes personal responsibility to ensure external and internal customer satisfaction is met despite pressures and/or significant obstacles. Discusses options with customer for alternative ways to meet expectations cost-effectively and efficiently.
