EDD Negotiator (Workers' Compensation)

We are looking for an EDD Negotiator to represent our clients (Employers, Insurance Companies, and TPA’s) via phone calls, written communication, and virtual (video) meetings, as well as lien conferences specifically related to the Employment Development Department.   Responsibilities: Manage a full caseload of EDD lien files by reviewing workers’ compensation claims, medical records, payment records, and supporting documentation to determine lien validity and amounts owed. Conduct legal and case-specific research and prepare, draft, obtain, and file documents related to EDD liens and workers’ compensation matters. Communicate directly with EDD representatives to resolve liens, identify discrepancies or overpayments, and negotiate reductions in amounts owed. Consult with handling attorneys regarding claim status, defenses, settlement posture, and overall case strategy. Prepare proposals to resolve EDD liens, negotiate settlements, and coordinate with defense attorneys, adjusters, claims professionals, and EDD representatives throughout the lien resolution process. Maintain detailed case notes, track deadlines, and ensure timely follow-up through resolution of each claim. Maintain required billable hours and enter billing notes in accordance with client-specific requirements.
