Description of Work The Early Intervention Program is in the Early Intervention Branch of the Women’s and Children’s Health Section, Division of Public Health, Department of Health and Human Services. The Program is governed by the federal Part C of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and is also called the Part C Program or the North Carolina Infant Toddler Program. Employees of Children’s Developmental Services Agencies (CDSAs) are employees of the Early Intervention Branch and must follow all federal regulations and state policy for the Early Intervention Program as well as all Branch, Section, Division and Department policies and procedures and all rules, regulations, policies, and procedures for state employees. Each employee’s primary job function must meet job classification standards and may be carried out within any county of the CDSA catchment area. In addition, in some instances, employees will be assigned to perform primary job functions across catchment areas, depending on Early Intervention Program needs. All job functions are completed within the approvals of and mission for the Early Intervention Program, the Early Intervention Branch, the Women’s and Children’s Health Section, the Division of Public Health, and the Department of Health and Human Services. This part-time (25 hrs./wk) position is located in the Concord Children’s Developmental Services Agency and is responsible for providing support for program related activities and also provides support to direct service staff and management. Support includes activities related to the referral process, follow-up on needed documents from referral sources to expedite the enrollment of children into early intervention services; contacts with families regarding appointments, report processing and data entry. This position also facilitates preparatory activities for QA/QI committee meetings and coordinates public awareness and Child Find activities Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences Recruitment Range: $22,000-$24,078 Candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they have the minimum education and experience listed on the vacancy announcement. The following Management Preferences are not required, but applicants that possess these skills are preferred. • Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. • Knowledge of any other programs is a plus.  • Must be able to multi-task in a busy office environment and work effectively with a diverse population.  • Must have customer service skills and be able to interact and communicate with the public. • Attention to detail, ability to prioritize and organizational skills are essential to this position. Position is 100% funded through federal funds.
