Pay Rate: Starting at $80,000 and can go up DOE Purpose: The Development Director leads New Narrative’s private fundraising efforts, building relationships with individual donors, corporate partners, sponsors, and foundations to grow philanthropic support for our mission. This hands-on role manages the prospect pipeline, donor cultivation and solicitation, annual giving, sponsorships, and fundraising events. The Director also supervises the Development team and works closely with organizational leaders and community partners. We’re looking for a proactive relationship-builder who is comfortable making financial asks, uses technology and the latest tools thoughtfully, and brings strong organization, judgment, and follow-through. Development Director New Narrative is seeking a relationship-focused Development Director to lead and grow our private fundraising program. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys building relationships, creating opportunities, and turning connections into meaningful philanthropic support. The Development Director will build and manage a pipeline of individual donors, corporate partners, sponsors, and foundation prospects; cultivate and steward relationships; and make direct financial asks. The Director will also lead fundraising strategy for annual giving, Give!Guide, sponsorships, donor cultivation, and major events while helping expand New Narrative’s community of supporters. As the leader of the Development Department, the Director supervises the Communications & Engagement Coordinator and Development Assistant and coordinates with grant writers, communications consultants, organizational leaders, program teams, and Finance. We’re looking for someone who: Has approximately 4–5 years of progressively responsible fundraising, business development, or other relationship-based revenue experience. Has demonstrated success cultivating and soliciting individual donors, corporate partners, or sponsors. Enjoys developing new relationships and building a strong, active prospect pipeline. Works effectively with donors, community partners, executives, Board members, and colleagues across an organization. Has experience with fundraising campaigns, sponsorships, donor stewardship, cultivation events, or annual giving. Is organized, proactive, collaborative, and comfortable managing multiple priorities. Is comfortable using CRM and project-management systems to support relationship management and follow-through. Has experience supervising staff, contractors, volunteers, or complex cross-functional projects. Is comfortable using modern technology while exercising sound judgment and protecting confidential information. Is enthusiastic about New Narrative’s mission and about using philanthropy to strengthen services for people seeking mental health care.
