Job Description Overview AtkinsRéalis is one of Canada's largest private sector nuclear engineering groups. AtkinsRéalis is looking for Deterministic Safety Analyst(s) (DSA) to be part of our team in supporting the design of new nuclear power plants and the operation and refurbishment of existing CANDU nuclear power plants. Location – Buenos Aires, Argentina Your role within the team: Perform deterministic safety assessments for plant systems, including HTS, Containment, and severe‑accident progression. Analyze postulated accidents using state‑of‑the‑art methodologies and computer codes. Develop safety‑analysis approaches, including analysis‑basis plans and reports for assigned tasks. Execute assignments independently, ensuring work aligns with project requirements and expected outcomes. Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate engineering phases of major or large‑scope projects requiring initiative and independent judgment. Address complex engineering challenges, such as conflicting design requirements, unsuitable materials, and difficult coordination needs. Assess feasibility and soundness of engineering methods, applying broad discipline knowledge and providing technically accurate, well‑reasoned recommendations. About you: A relevant honours degree in Engineering or Science from a recognized university, with 1-8 years of relevant experience. Advanced degree research and coursework will be considered toward meeting this requirement. Must be conversant with computer environments; proficiency in both Linux and WINDOWS environments is a strong asset. Broad knowledge of thermal-fluid sciences (fluid flow, heat transfers, multi-phase flow and thermodynamics). Familiarity and experience with some of the safety and licensing computer codes such as CATHENA, NUCIRC, ADDAM, GOTHIC and MAAP. Proficiency in computer programming, especially FORTRAN, is desirable. Good knowledge of the CANDU design, with particular emphasis on the heat transport system (HTS) and plant control, containment and moderator systems would be an asset. Good knowledge of underlying engineering principles and practices. Experience in licensing activities would also be an asset. Excellent oral and written communication skills in English are required. Ability to work well under pressure and be flexible, i.e., must be able to perform varied work assignments effectively and respond quickly to changing project needs. Ability to show initiative while working in a team environment. Ability to work to budget and schedule. Must be willing to travel occasionally to participate in meetings and workshops. AtkinsRéalis está buscando Analistas Junior de Evaluación Determinística de Seguridad (DSA) para ser parte de nuestro equipo en el apoyo al diseño de nuevas plantas de energía nuclear y la operación y renovación de las plantas de energía nuclear CANDU existentes. Ubicación – Buenos Aires, Argentina Tu rol dentro del equipo: Responsable de las Evaluaciones de Seguridad Determinista de los Sistemas de Planta (Proceso y Seguridad), especialmente el Sistema de Transporte de Calor (HTS) y Contención, así como el Análisis de Progresión de Accidentes Graves. Analizar accidentes postulados utilizando metodologías y códigos de computadora de última generación. Desarrollar enfoques a utilizar en tareas de Análisis de Seguridad, creando planes de base de análisis e informes de base de análisis. Realizar asignaciones de manera independiente con instrucciones sobre los resultados generales esperados. Asegurar que el trabajo se realice de manera consistente con los Requisitos del Proyecto. Planificar y llevar a cabo su propio trabajo, requiriendo iniciativa y juicio independiente. Desarrollar, planificar, programar, realizar o coordinar fases deta
