Description of Work This position is located at Tabor Correctional Institution in Tabor City, NC 28463 and reports to the Dentist assigned to the facility. Tabor CI is a close, medium and minimum custody prison housing male offenders. The facility is designed to house a maximum capacity of 1,752 offenders. This is skilled work in rendering technical assistance to dentists in the care of dental patients. This position provides primary clinical support for offender care by performing dental assisting duties in a variety of clinical settings, i.e., emergency care, general dentistry, restorative dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, orthodontics, prosthodontics, pediatric dentistry, periodontics, and radiology. Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences Salary Range: $35,770 - $53,564 Candidates must meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they meet the minimum education and experience listed on the vacancy announcement. The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)/ Management Preferences are not required. Applicants who possess the following skills are preferred: Documented experience in the utilization of dental instruments, procedures, and equipment. Demonstrated knowledge of preparation methods and dental materials Documented experience in maintaining dental records.
