We are seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused Counter Sales Associate to join our dynamic team in Guilderland, New York. As a Counter Sales Associate, you will be the welcoming face of our organization, delivering exceptional service to our valued customers while maintaining a professional and organized sales environment. This role offers an exciting opportunity to grow your retail expertise while making a meaningful impact on customer satisfaction and sales performance. Greet customers warmly and professionally, providing prompt assistance with inquiries and purchases Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system accurately and efficiently to process transactions, including credit cards, and other payment methods Demonstrate comprehensive product knowledge to help customers make informed purchasing decisions and identify their needs Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing sales counter area at all times Handle customer concerns and complaints with empathy and professionalism, working toward effective resolutions Restock merchandise and assist with inventory management to ensure product availability Collaborate with team members to create a positive and supportive shopping environment Multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Adhere to all company policies and procedures to ensure smooth daily operations Assist with warehouse operations, including shipping and receiving, when needed Maintain consistent attendance and punctuality to support team success Identify sales opportunities and utilize effective techniques to meet sales goals Required Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent 2+ years of retail or customer service experience Demonstrated ability to process payments accurately Strong organizational and time management skills Preferred Qualifications: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage customers effectively Strong mathematical skills for accurate transaction processing Proficiency in operating Point of Sale (POS) systems In-depth product knowledge or proven ability to quickly learn about product lines Demonstrated customer service excellence with a friendly, supportive, and empathetic attitude Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously Physical capability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds regularly Solid computer skills and meticulous attention to detail Team player mentality with a collaborative and inclusive approach Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills Inventory management experience Proven sales techniques and upselling ability Reliability, work ethic, and commitment to consistent attendance Willingness to pursue forklift certification (training provided) All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
