Description of Work Salary Range - $50,088 - $87,654 This Correctional Associate Warden (Correctional Asst. Superintendent I) position is located at Davidson Correctional Center in Lexington, North Carolina. Davidson Correctional Center is a 258-bed minimum custody prison that houses male offenders and staffs approximately 58 employees The Salary Grade for this position is NC13. If selected for the position, a new salary will be recalculated taking into consideration the quantity of relevant education and experience, funding availability, and internal equity. Based upon these factors, a pay increase MAY result. This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits with established working hours of Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm and must be available 24/7 to meet facility needs. The primary purpose of the position is responsibility for assisting with the total operation of Davidson Correctional Center, which includes custody, food service, and maintenance. Key Duties include: • Ensuring the safety and security of the housing of male offenders housed at Davidson Correctional Center and ensuring the safety of the staff and general public. • Working closely with supervisors to provide guidance direction on prison policies and procedures. • Directly involved with the hiring, disciplining, coaching, and training of employees. • Providing direction and structure for the work of Correctional Sergeants, Correctional Officers, and support staff. • During any extended period of absence of the Warden II, this position will assume all duties and responsibilities in the interim. This position reports directly to the Warden II. About the Division of Institutions : The Division of Institutions manages the daily operations of all state-operated prison facilities across North Carolina. Facilities are categorized by custody levels (minimum, medium, close) and house individuals serving sentences for felony convictions. The division provides safety, security, and rehabilitative services through trained custody staff, program facilitators, and administrative personnel.
