Clinical Documentation Specialist - Remote

Location: Remote PHS Department: HIM Revenue Cycle Weekly Hours: 0 Status: Per Diem Shift: Days (United States of America) Job Summary: As a Clinical Documentation Specialist, you work to improve the overall quality and completeness of provider-based clinical documentation. This includes reviewing patient records and assisting providers to ensure patient records are accurate for severity of illness and level of services rendered .    In this role, you will work with providers, coders and other patient care team members for comprehensive patient documentation. You will also develop and deliver clinical documentation improvement education to providers, and you will formulate, monitor and respond to all compliant documentation clarification requests.   The above summary is intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by the positions; it should not be considered exhaustive.    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS   Associate degree in Health Information Management or related field   1-2 years of inpatient coding experience   RN with active state licensure OR Certification: RHIA/RHIT, CCS, CDIP, CCDS   PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS   Bachelor of Nursing or bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management or related field   Experience with acute care inpatient coding or clinical documentation improvement   RN, RHIA/ RHIT, CCS, CDIP, CCDS certification   Salary Range - $41,600 - $134,680   Our benefits package for per diem employees offers a 401k retirement plan (no company match for per diem status), an employee assistance program and employee discounts   This is a remote position; however, employment is limited to residents of certain U.S. states due to legal, tax, and regulatory requirements.  At this time, we cannot offer employment to individuals residing in California, Colorado, Hawaii, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Washington, or U.S. territories.  Eligibility is based on applicant’s primary residence at time of hire.
