The Child Guardian Additional is a seasonal position within MSG Entertainment's Christmas Spectacular production at Radio City Music Hall. This role is responsible for the direct supervision, safety, and well-being of child performers during all rehearsals, performances, and production-related activities. The Child Guardian Additional serves as a supplemental guardian, providing coverage and support beyond the core guardian team to ensure compliance with New York State and City child performer labor regulations and MSG Entertainment's internal child safety policies.   What will you do?    Provide direct, hands-on supervision of child performers at all times during rehearsals, performances, and production-related activities   Enforce New York State Department of Labor child performer regulations, including work hours, rest periods, meal breaks, and educational requirements   Escort children to and from backstage areas, dressing rooms, stages, and other production spaces   Maintain accurate attendance logs and incident reports for all assigned child performers   Assist with costume changes and ensure children are prepared and on schedule for performance cues   Communicate proactively and professionally with parents, guardians, production staff, and stage management regarding child performer status and any concerns   Administer basic first aid as needed and escalate medical or safety issues immediately   Collaborate with the core Child Guardian team, Stage Management, and Production leadership to ensure seamless operations   Monitor and maintain a safe, supportive, and positive environment for all child performers   Provide exceptional experiences for our guests, partners, and team members, including by adhering to our appearance and presentation guidelines while on-site.     What do you need to succeed?   Prior experience in childcare, youth programming, education, or child supervision in a performance/entertainment setting preferred   Familiarity with New York State and City child performer labor laws and Department of Labor requirements Certifications: CPR and First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain prior to start)   Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to interact professionally with parents, children, production staff, and stage management   Organizational Skills: Ability to maintain accurate records, manage attendance logs, and handle incident documentation   Patient, calm, and nurturing demeanor with the ability to manage groups of children in a fast-paced production environment   Judgment & Problem-Solving: Sound decision-making skills with the ability to respond quickly and appropriately to safety or behavioral concerns   Ensure all required work permits, badging, and credentialing for child performers are current and properly maintained.    Track and enforce allowable work hours, required break periods, and tutoring time in accordance with applicable regulations   Special Requirements   Must be able to stand, walk, and move throughout Radio City Music Hall and rehearsal spaces for extended periods, including backstage areas and multiple building levels.   Must be available to work a seasonal schedule aligned with the CSSR production calendar, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and multi-show days.   Must be able to respond quickly in emergency situations and physically escort child performers through the venue as needed.   Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, holiday, and split days off; willing to travel to other venues as needed.   Must be in Local 764 or willing to join   Hourly Pay Range $26.29 — $26.29 USD At MSG, we recognize the importance of upskilling employees’ talents and strengths so they can drive their careers forward.
