Certified Behavior Tech I/II - Inpatient Psych

Provides behavior intervention and skill development curricula to individuals and families/caregivers of individuals with developmental, intellectual, emotional, and behavioral challenges in a behavior analytic program. Interventions and curricula may be provided in individual or small group settings under the supervision of a Qualified Healthcare Professional. (Includes, but is not limited to, Behavioral Analyst (I and/or II), Psychologist, Clinical Supervisor, and/or Clinical Director.) Collect data on programs and skills, provide oral and written updates on patient progress and assist in discharge planning activities. Work in collaboration with program leadership on quality improvement, program development and other special projects as appropriate. Provide assistance with training other team members and conducting behavioral assessments. We are hiring for full-time or part-time Certified Behavior Technicians to work in our Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine Unit (PBMU)! The Certified Behavior Technician position provides the opportunity to grow your career in a hospital setting that is on the cutting edge of behavioral health. Our CBT’s implement behavior plans and coach patients directly through a series of scheduled activities within the biobehavioral program. Job duties include working in skills groups focused on motor skills, sensory activities, art therapy, music therapy, and educational skills. We also have several BCBA’s and a psychologist who are heavily involved in patient care and support your work. The PBMU is an inpatient crisis stabilization unit where we treat children ages 3-17 who are in psychiatric crisis. Our 41-bed unit is split into three programs: Child, Adolescent, and the Biobehavioral Inpatient Program. These positions require working a mix of day/evening shifts as well as Saturdays/Sundays. A full-time employee works 1.0 FTE (80 hours per bi-weekly pay periods) & part-time employees work either 0.9 FTE (72 hours per bi-weekly pay periods) or 0.8 FTE (64 hours per bi-weekly pay periods).  Certified Behavior Technician I: Required Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, special education, psychology, communication disorders, or related field or equivalent education and/or experience. 1 year of experience providing direct treatment services to children and families/caregivers. Required Credentials WA State Certified Behavior Technician Credential (CBT). Licensed Behavior Analyst (LBA) and/or Licensed Assistant Behavior Analyst (LABA) will be accepted in lieu of CBT. Safety Care Cert (internal training) required within 3 months of hire and annually thereafter. For staff in the Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine Unit (PBMU): - Nursing Assistant in WA state within 6 months of employment. - Basic Life Support (BLS). - Ukeru training required within 3 months of hire and annually thereafter. Preferred Preferred candidates will have bilingual skills. Preferred candidates will have experience working with caregivers and families. Preferred candidates will have experience working with diverse populations. Preferred candidates will have experience navigating multiple hospital systems. Preferred candidates will be credentialed as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) through the Behavior Analysis Certification Board (BACB). Preferred candidates will have 1 year experience working with neurodiverse individuals. Certified Behavior Technician II: Required Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, special education, psychology, communication disorders, or related field or equivalent education and/or experience. Minimum one year of experience working as a Certified Behavior Tech (CBT) or Registered Behavior Tech (RBT) in an applied behavior analytic program and two years of direct treatment services to children and families/caregivers. Minimum two years of experience providing direct treatment services to children and families/caregivers. Required Credentials WA State Certified Behavior Technician Credential (CBT). Licensed Behavior Analyst (LBA) and/or Licensed Assistant Behavior Analyst (LABA) will be accepted in lieu of CBT. Compensation Range $29.16 - $48.11 per hour Salary Information This compensation range was calculated based on full-time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity, skills, experience, and expertise, and may vary within the range provided.
