Business Office Assistant / SNF Biller – Full-Time Oakwood Gardens Care Center
Pay Range: $17.50–$18.00 per hour, based on experience
Grow Your Career in Skilled Nursing Administration Oakwood Gardens Care Center is seeking a dependable, organized, and detail-oriented Full-Time Business Office Assistant/SNF Biller to join our team. This position supports the Business Office Manager, Administrator, and Director of Nursing with billing, accounting, clerical, and general administrative responsibilities.
The ideal candidate has strong computer and customer-service skills, excellent attention to detail, and an interest in skilled nursing billing and business office operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist with daily business office, billing, accounting, and administrative functions.
Follow work schedules, instructions, facility policies, and established procedures.
Support the Business Office Manager with skilled nursing billing and accounts-receivable processes.
Assist with Medicare, Medi-Cal, managed care, private insurance, and resident billing as assigned.
Verify resident insurance coverage, authorizations, eligibility, and payer information.
Enter census, ancillary, cash-receipt, and billing information accurately and promptly.
Assist with preparing claims, correcting billing errors, tracking unpaid balances, and following up on outstanding accounts.
Post payments, adjustments, deposits, and cash receipts according to established procedures.
Help maintain accurate resident financial files and supporting documentation.
Communicate professionally with residents, responsible parties, insurance companies, and facility departments regarding account information.
Support the Administrator, Director of Nursing, and Business Office Manager with administrative projects.
Prepare correspondence, reports, spreadsheets, meeting materials, and other documents.
Record meeting minutes and file completed documentation appropriately.
Assist with human resources and payroll duties as assigned.
Maintain office supply inventory and help ensure necessary equipment is available.
Develop positive working relationships with employees across all departments.
Assist with recording and filing incident and accident documentation.
Support community relations and represent the facility professionally.
Protect resident privacy and maintain the confidentiality of financial, employment, and health information.
Promptly report suspected or known confidentiality violations.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications High school diploma or GED required.
Previous skilled nursing billing, healthcare business office, accounts receivable, accounting, or administrative experience preferred.
Knowledge of Medicare, Medi-Cal, managed care, private insurance, and skilled nursing billing processes is a plus.
Experience with PointClickCare or another healthcare billing or electronic record system preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; strong Excel skills preferred.
Ability to type at least 40 words per minute.
Ability to use a 10-key calculator and standard office equipment.
Strong attention to detail, accuracy, organization, and time-management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality.
Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines in a busy environment.
Dependable attendance and a cooperative, team-oriented attitude.
Physical Requirements This position requires regular sitting, standing, walking, speaking, hearing, reading, and prolonged computer use. Frequent use of office equipment—including telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines, and calculators—is required. The employee may occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds and may assist during emergency evacuations when necessary.
