Must have skills : Downstream Retail Technology Good to have skills : NA Minimum 5 year(s) of experience is required Educational Qualification : 15 years full time education Summary: We are seeking a seasoned Fuels Retail Subject Matter Expert to join our O&G Downstream Retail Practice within Accenture's Energy Industry Group. The role demands deep end-to-end expertise across the downstream fuels retail value chain — from terminal operations and wet stock management through to forecourt technology, pricing, loyalty, and convenience retail. The candidate will lead complex client engagements, drive digital transformation programmes, and serve as the principal domain authority on fuels retail technology implementations across IOCs, NOCs, and independent fuel retail networks. Roles & Responsibilities: E2E Domain Leadership & Business Process Serve as the go-to expert across the full downstream retail value chain — terminal receipt & storage, fuel distribution, forecourt operations, wet stock management, convenience retail, pricing, loyalty, and site compliance. Lead As-Is / To-Be process mapping across core fuels retail workflows (O2D, P2P, C2C, Site Operations), facilitating discovery workshops with client operations teams. Produce high-quality functional specifications, process documentation, and business requirements for use in technology programmes and regulatory submissions. Technology Implementation Act as the business-side domain expert on fuels retail technology programmes including RFM systems (Verifone, Gilbarco), wet stock platforms (OPW, Implico), SAP IS-Oil, POS, and loyalty CRM. Translate business requirements into system configurations, integration specifications, and UAT criteria across multi-site implementations. Own site go-lives, cutover plans, and post-implementation stabilisation across large-scale fuel retail network rollouts. Network Strategy & Commercial Advisory Advise clients on retail network strategy — site portfolio rationalisation, COCO/CODO/DODO model transitions, throughput benchmarking, and margin optimisation across fuel grades and convenience categories. Conduct pricing strategy reviews and support fuel margin analysis, incorporating competitive benchmarking and demand sensitivity modelling. Support business development pursuits, client proposals, and presentations to C-suite and senior operations stakeholders. Client & Stakeholder Engagement Build trusted relationships with C-suite and senior operations stakeholders at IOCs, NOCs, independent fuel retailers, and PE-backed networks. Serve as technical lead in client workshops, requirements-gathering sessions, and steering committee presentations, translating complex operational insights into actionable recommendations. Mentor and guide junior consultants, ensuring quality assurance of deliverables and adherence to project timelines. Innovation & Digital Transformation Champion the application of GenAI, IoT, and advanced analytics in fuels retail contexts — demand forecasting, dynamic pricing, automated reconciliation, and EV integration. Contribute to Accenture's fuels retail thought leadership, asset commercialisation, and practice-level knowledge repositories. Develop and deliver knowledge-sharing programmes, onboarding materials, and training sessions for Accenture delivery teams and client staff. Professional & Technical Skills: - Fuels Retail Operations Expert knowledge of wet stock management, fuel reconciliation, tank gauging, and inventory control using platforms such as OPW, Implico, or Leighton. Deep understanding of forecourt operations, site compliance, HSE requirements, and regulatory frameworks across multiple geographies. Hands-on experience with fuel distribution logistics, terminal operations, and downstream supply chain management. Technology & Systems Proficient in RFM/POS systems (Verifone, Gilbarco, Wayne), SAP IS-Oil / SAP S/4HANA downstream modules, and loyalty CRM platforms. Strong working knowledge of fuels retail ERP landscapes, system integration patterns, and data flows across the retail value chain. Experienced in UAT design, business readiness assessment, and go-live cutover management for multi-site technology rollouts. Commercial & Network Analysis Proven track record in retail network strategy, site portfolio assessment, COCO/CODO/DODO model analysis, and throughput benchmarking. Skilled in fuel pricing strategy, margin analysis, and competitive benchmarking across fuel grades and convenience retail categories. Experience with financial modelling for retail network investments, including NPV/IRR analysis and scenario planning. Digital & Data Analytics Practical knowledge of advanced analytics, demand forecasting, and dynamic pricing tools in a fuels retail context. Exposure to GenAI, IoT sensor data, and automation use cases for forecourt operations and wet stock reconciliation. Proficient in data visualisation tools (Power BI, Tableau) for operational performance reporting and KPI dashboarding. Consulting & Stakeholder Management Experienced in multi-disciplinary team leadership, executive-level presentations, and cross-cultural client management across IOC and NOC environments. Strong workshop facilitation skills — business process discovery, requirements elicitation, and design thinking sessions. Capable of producing board-level deliverables: business cases, operating model designs, and transformation roadmaps.
