Bulk - Maintenance Repairs Technician

Salary Range USD $32.00/Hr. - USD $37.00/Hr. Overview The Job in a Nutshell: The Maintenance Repairs Technician position is responsible for developing and performing preventative and corrective maintenance on bulk bagging production equipment at the Natural Grocers Distribution Center.  This position is also responsible for timely repairs to equipment during processing; and, general warehouse repairs and maintenance.   This position is scheduled Monday through Friday and may include some holidays. Applications are accepted by the date below, which may be updated if the hiring timeline is extended.09/23/2026 Responsibilities Main Ingredients: Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on production equipment, including augers and vibrating scale equipment Maintain preventive maintenance program for all production equipment, to be in compliance with Food Safety guidelines and Good Manufacturing practices Perform preventive maintenance on warehouse equipment as needed Recommend spare parts to support production and warehouse equipment; maintain parts inventory to meet production needs Inspect mechanical systems, equipment and components to identify and correct any hazards or defects Participate in dismantling, relocating and re-assembly of equipment as necessary to accommodate business growth Test equipment and machinery to verify repairs and ensure safe and efficient operation Repair and maintain all conveyor belt systems Perform pneumatic and hydraulic systems installation and repairs Maintain filters and belts on all RTU’s and air compressors Provide training and guidance to machine operators as needed Manage on-site maintenance vendors that work at the DC Carry out minor repairs in DC including changing light fixtures, changing bulbs, patching drywall, mounting racks on walls, changing out plumbing fixtures, etc. Fabricate minor parts for production or warehouse, such as machine guards Provide timely repair service to production operations to keep equipment running Create clear, accurate, complete and timely documentation of work orders Maintain a work environment that is clean and safe Work closely with vendors to ensure projects are completed efficiently and accurately, including repairs, machining, welding, fabrication, rebuilds, etc. Although this is a general outline of job responsibilities all employees are expected to be “hands on” and do whatever it takes to get the job done and make the company thrive. Qualifications Recipe for Success: Minimum 5 years of experience as repairs/maintenance technician in an automated industrial production facility, conducting preventive maintenance and repairs. Experience with auger and vibrating scale systems preferred. Must have Forklift/ Powered Pallet Jack Operator certification which must be kept current for this position Experience in a food manufacturing environment with an understanding of GMP’s, HACCP and Food Safety preferred Ability to understand and work on DC voltage required Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot maintenance issues required Possesses basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical and fabrication knowledge Ability to provide installation and repair techniques for piping systems (water, air) Possess industrial safety, machine safety and safeguarding techniques Knowledge of PLC systems a plus Ability to work with minimal supervision and take the initiative to get assigned work done efficiently and effectively and in a timely manner Ability to prioritize tasks and communicate with management on progress Strong attention to details and getting the work done right the first time Ability to work with a diverse group and provide leadership in the maintenance area Must have valid CO driver’s license Must be a non-smoker; NGVC is a health food company with a non-smoking policy This job description is not an employment contract.  It does not guarantee a job or that the above listed duties are the limit of responsibilities.  The job and job description are subject to change with and without notice.  Employees are required to accomplish any and all tasks assigned to him/her by their Manager and/or other Store Support Center manager that might not be listed in this job description.
