We are hiring  Bread Board Technicians to work in Dearborn, MI.   This is a position for those with some knowledge and experience in automotive, either on the job or as a hobby.  We are looking for someone with a passion for automotive and an enthusiasm to learn automotive testing from a leader in the industry.   We offer full benefits and and unlimited opportunity to build your career.  Responsibilities: Work with the installation and assembly of electrical instrumentation, modules, sensors, power supplies, load boxes, inverters etc. Fabricate breadboards and build up to test ready Trouble shoot breadboard issues and provide customer support Use oscilloscopes/meters/logic analyzers to diagnose/troubleshoot electrical issues Checkout electrical systems and verify per specification/drawings Design test fixtures, harnesses and test boxes to meet client specifications Develop new test fixtures/loads to simulate vehicle components Specify and select electrical components to support electrical designs Safety of yourself, all personnel, and the lab MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, AND /OR SKILL REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma required. Knowledgeable and proficient with hands on automotive work Strong knowledge of automotive parts and subsystems and how the systems work/interact Electrical background, strong and proficient understanding of electrical automotive systems, schematics, excellent soldering skills Knowledge of the vehicle CAN bus and various other communication tools Strong instrumentation background, build custom cables, connectors etc. Microsoft office programs, CAD, VIZO, MATLAB, Solid Works preferred Good Fabrication and Machining abilities Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Strong safety mindset Inventory experience a plus Work Ethic Self-starter, Proactive and Energetic, Problem Solver People person/Team Player Good Attention to Detail Organized, with Good Housekeeping Skills Adaptable, Flexible, and Versatile Desired:  Associates’ degree or equivalent in an electrical discipline Two (2) years or more of relevant experience in electrical work. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION Unusual or Special Physical Requirements of Position Lifting: Parts, cables, and light-weight instrumentation up to 50 lbs, 60% Special clothing/equipment (wearing): Slip resistant hardened toe shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection in designated areas, 100% Unusual physical requirements: Sitting (50%), Standing (50%), Bending (25%), stopping (25%). Where?: Inside test facility, 100% Extreme (hot/cold) temperatures involved: NA Hazardous conditions - What are they?: Energized samples, rotating parts, 50% Travel/transportation requirements: NA Equipment and Machines Involved in Work Tasks Office equipment/machines electrically/battery operated - which?: Computers, copy machines, fax machines, telephones 75% Tools used in trade - which ones?: Hand tools, multi-meters, and other electrical diagnostic devices, 10% Criticality of Attendance Overtime, regular days, off days: Monday through Friday 7:00AM to 4:00 PM but must be able to support our flexible test schedule into other shifts and/or weekends Shift, 1st, 2nd, 3rd: Day shift Necessity for regular attendance: Critical Urgency for punctuality: Critical Work hours are normally 8 hours per day and 5 days per week, Monday-Friday. Regular attendance of scheduled hours is extremely important. Punctuality and regular attendance are necessary. Must have flexibility of work afternoons to cover weekend testing requirements. Other Essential Functions Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, PHMV exam and background check. Must demonstrate professional behavior at all times when dealing with customers, management and co-workers. Must have clear, concise and accurate communications skills in English, both verbal and written. Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk to self or others. Must maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a professional manner. Dependable personal transportation to work site is required.
