Benefit and Absence Representative- Temporary

Building Location: Business Service Center Department: 1007100 HR OPERATIONS - EH SS Job Description: Essentia Health is hiring a temporary Benefits & Absence Representative. Education Qualifications: Job Description: The Benefits and Absence Representative assists staff across the organization with the utilization and understanding of benefit and absence plans.  Responsibilities include administering leave of absence programs to ensure compliance with federal and state leave of absence requirements, ADAAA, Essentia Health policies and procedures, and collective bargaining agreements.  The Benefits and Absence Representative also demonstrates excellent customer service by responding to both internal and external inquiries about benefits and absence-related matters. Key Responsibilities: Administers benefit and absence plans, including resolving issues, entering or updating information, reviewing and resolving reports, and assisting with enrollment processes Processes and distributes leave of absence documents regarding FMLA, employment status and any other leave of absence communication Communicates work restriction notifications to management and coordinates the interactive process when necessary Coordinates and partners with other areas as required Responds to complex telephone or written inquiries received from past and present Essentia Health employees Shares knowledge with and provides back-up and overflow telephone and email support to first level representatives Identifies opportunities to update or change the information knowledge base utilized by representatives and represents area of expertise on projects or initiatives Education Requirement: Associate's degree plus 1 year of experience OR 3 years of experience in a customer service or human resources environment Required Qualifications: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Proficient in HRIS systems and other relevant software, specifically Workday Preferred Qualifications: Experience with medical, dental, vision, and retirement benefits and/or leaves of absence Position Details: This is a temporary position Monday - Friday Day shift - approximately 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Preference will be given to candidates who reside in our service areas (Minnesota, North Dakota, Wisconsin), however, the position is fully remote Licensure/Certification Qualifications: FTE: 1 Possible Remote/Hybrid Option: Remote Shift Rotation: Day Rotation (United States of America) Shift Start Time: Shift End Time: Weekends: Holidays: No Call Obligation: No Union: Union Posting Deadline: Compensation Range: $21.72 - $32.58 Employee Benefits at Essentia Health: At Essentia Health, we’re committed to supporting your well-being, growth, and work-life balance.
