We are Making Sustainability Happen.   We are   seeking   a skilled and experienced   Air Quality Engineer or Scientist  to join our expanding  Air Quality Permitting and Compliance Team in Houston, Texas . This  full-time   position offers a dynamic range of responsibilities, requiring adaptability and a broad skill set. We are committed to supporting your professional growth through a rewarding career development path within our   global, fast-growing environmental consulting organization.  Technical Experience Required:    Bachelor’s or   Master’s degree in Engineering , Environmental Science, Atmospheric Science, Chemistry, or a closely related scientific field   Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in air quality consulting or related disciplines   Strong understanding of State and Federal air quality regulations, including Title V, PSD, GHG and Emissions Inventory Reporting, NSPS, and NESHAP   Proven experience supporting clients in   maintaining   compliance with applicable air quality programs and regulatory requirements ​   Ability to thrive in a fast-paced consulting environment, managing   multiple projects, meeting deadlines, and delivering high-quality work   Excellent analytical, organizational, and multitasking abilities   Demonstrated experience solving environmental challenges,   calculating air emissions, and interpreting complex regulations   Strong technical writing skills, with   a track record   of producing   comprehensive technical reports   Experience engaging with State and Federal regulatory agencies   Effective time management across multiple project tasks   Proficiency   in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) ​   Possess a valid driver’s license   Willingness to travel by air and car, including occasional overnight trips   Preferred Personal Attributes and Traits:   Logical and methodical approach to problem solving   Strong attention to detail   Willingness and ability to learn new skills and to mentor others   Capable of working independently and collaboratively, including leading teams when needed   Solid understanding of project budgets and deadlines   Self-motivated with minimal need for oversight on routine tasks   Proactive in   identifying   and taking on work assignments   Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills to build   and   maintain   strong relationships with colleagues, clients, and subcontractors   Key Responsibilities:   Adhere to SLR and client-specific health, safety, and environmental   policies including compliance with drug and alcohol requirements   Support air quality permitting, compliance reporting, and field data   collection activities under the guidance of a Principal or Senior Project Manager   Collaborate with project team members to develop, review, and de-   liver permit applications and technical reports   Mentor junior staff and foster skill development within the team   Learn and apply compliance reporting software tools effectively   Provide technical   expertise   on regulatory frameworks, engineering   approaches   and investigative   method   relevant to project work.   Assist   clients in implementing and managing air quality compliance programs   Prepare proposals and present technical solutions to a diverse client base   Build and   maintain   client relationships through consistent delivery of high-quality technical work   Participate in short-duration travel for client meetings and project-related activities   SLR Benefits:   Competitive total compensation package including medical, dental, orthodontia, vision, FSA/HSA, generous PTO accrual, 10 paid holidays, 401(k) retirement account with company matching program, company paid life insurance,   short & long term   disability insurance, and employee   assistance   program.   Full-time, permanent role with opportunities for professional growth and advancement   Diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I) are at the core of who we are and want to be.   SLR is proud to be an Equal Employment Opportunity / Affirmative Action Employer.
