About the Role: We’re looking for an Associate Director, Scientific Publications on the Global Medical Affairs team to help us expand what’s possible for patients with serious diseases. Reporting to the Director, Scientific Publications, you’ll support the Program Publication Lead in the development and execution of the integrated, evidence-based publication strategy, and partner closely with the other members of Scientific Publications, Clinical Development, health economics/health outcomes research (HEOR), Biometrics, Medical Directors, Scientific Communications, and Field Medical teams to align on strategy and execution, while engaging directly with medical expert and authors. This role carries high visibility within the Medical Affairs team and requires the ability to support and lead cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment. What You'll Do: In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to be a subject matter expert and internal liaison for the assigned therapeutic area(s) within the Insmed respiratory franchise and will have an understanding of study design and data interpretation. You’ll also: Support comprehensive cross-functional global publication planning, including generation and execution of annual publication plans and presence at scientific congresses, with an understanding of how these activities support the overall business strategy, and including identification and prioritization of regional and local publication needs Execute publication plans including leading agency partners to ensure delivery of accurate and appropriate publications on time, within budget, and adhering to policy Ensure complete and accurate documentation of publication tactics into internal databases (eg, Datavision, Smartsheet) Support the management and tracking of overall publication budget Partner with the Scientific Communications lead to support the incorporation of published data into medical materials (eg, Field Medical, Medical Affairs training) Ensure the publication development process and all materials produced are in compliance with Insmed policy and guidelines including International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE), Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA), and Good Publication Practice (GPP) Leverage best practices and implement efficient processes to optimize publication efforts across Medical Affairs Who You Are: You have an advanced degree (Master’s or doctoral degree) in a scientific discipline, along with 7 years of relevant experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry, primarily in Medical Affairs publications function with a proven track record of achieving results in a complex and dynamic setting. You are or you also have: Minimum 5 years of experience and demonstrated success in design and implementation of Scientific Publications strategies, including oversight of formal needs assessment and other relevant activities Expert knowledge of relevant guidance including, but not limited to ICMJE, PhRMA guidelines, CME Open Payments reporting Demonstrated expertise in the understanding and application of scientific, preclinical, clinical, and HEOR data for the external dissemination to healthcare professionals, medical community, and other key stakeholders Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to understand and effectively communicate complex scientific and clinical data to internal and external stakeholders Demonstrated ability to work effectively within collaborative and cross-functional teams Must successfully exhibit Insmed’s five (5) core corporate competencies of: Excellence, Accountability, Driven, Collaborative and Solutions; along with any other position specific competencies Individuals must demonstrate the ability to interact successfully in a dynamic and culturally diverse workplace Nice to Have (but not required): Advanced degree preferred (PhD, PharmD, or MD) Certified Medical Publication Professional (CMPP) credentialed Experience in Orphan or Rare Disease areas, prior launch experience, and/or experience in pulmonary or cardiovascular medicine diseases preferred Where You’ll Work This is a fully remote role. It can be performed effectively from anywhere while staying connected to your Insmed team and community. Occasional travel for team meetings or events will be expected.
