Assistant Professor

Overview The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Macon & Joan Brock Virginia Health Sciences at Old Dominion University, within Eastern Virginia Medical Group (EVMG), is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) physician to join our academic faculty. This position offers the opportunity to practice in a high-acuity, multidisciplinary setting while also contributing to the teaching and research missions of a leading academic medical center. Responsibilities Collaborate with Nursing, office staff, administration in patient care Collaborate with peers, faculty and support staff Participate in academic/clinical/research activities as needed Provide administrative and supervisory support to educational, clinical, research mission. Participate in committees as assigned. Communication skills to present teaching materials Participate in education evaluation and career development of students, residents, fellows and staff. Provide physician care to patients in office/hospital setting. Supervise staff under faculty supervision. Qualifications Requirements:  MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school. Completion of an ACGME-accredited Obstetrics & Gynecology residency program. Board-certified or board-eligible in Obstetrics & Gynecology. Active state medical license (or eligibility for licensure). Current BLS and ACLS; NRP and other certifications as required by the institution. Preferred Experience or Attributes: Strong clinical decision-making and problem-solving abilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Commitment to patient-centered, culturally sensitive care. Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment.
