Job Title: Advanced Practice Provider (NP / PA-C) – Urgent Care Location: Seattle Main Campus (Seattle, WA) and North Campus (Everett, WA) Position Type: Part-Time to Full-Time (FTE 0.6 – 0.9, based on provider preference) Department: Urgent Care Clinics Job Summary Seattle Children’s Hospital is seeking a dedicated, patient-centered Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join our dynamic Urgent Care team. In this role, you will evaluate and manage pediatric patients independently up to their 21st birthday, presenting with a wide array of acute, non-life-threatening illnesses and minor injuries. Operating within a collaborative, multidisciplinary, team-based environment, you will work across our Seattle Main Campus and Everett (North Campus) locations. We offer flexible FTE arrangements ranging from 0.6 to 0.9 FTE , tailored to suit your professional goals and work-life preference. Key Responsibilities Direct Patient Care: Provide comprehensive, high-quality clinical evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment for pediatric, adolescent, and young adult patients presenting with acute illnesses (e.g., flu, RSV, asthma flares, respiratory distress) and minor injuries (e.g., lacerations, sprains, suspected fractures). Independent & Collaborative Practice: Autonomously manage a fast-paced clinical patient volume while functioning as an integral member of an interprofessional Urgent Care team consisting of physicians, nurses, medical assistants, and support staff. Procedures & Clinical Decision-Making: Perform minor procedures common to pediatric urgent care (such as wound closure/suturing, splinting, nasal suctioning, and simple foreign body removal). Order and interpret point-of-care lab tests and urgent diagnostic imaging. Virtual Urgent Care Integration: Participate in telemedicine video visits as needed, expanding patient access across Washington State. Patient & Family Education: Deliver compassionate, family-centered communication and discharge education, including advice on medication dosages (e.g., acetaminophen, ibuprofen), inhaler/spacer usage, and red-flag symptoms requiring emergency evaluation. Care Coordination: Document clinical encounters promptly in the EHR and ensure continuity of care by coordinating visit summary notes with primary care providers within 24 hours of care delivery. Work Schedule & Hours Operating hours vary by location and clinic schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays (open 365 days a year): Seattle Main Campus: Monday–Friday (11:00 AM – 10:30 PM) | Saturday & Sunday (11:00 AM – 8:00 PM) Everett North Campus: Monday–Friday (4:00 PM – 10:30 PM) | Saturday & Sunday (11:00 AM – 8:00 PM) Why Seattle Children's? Required Education and Experience: Master's degree in nursing with a concentration in a pediatric or family nurse practitioner program OR graduate of a nationally accredited physician assistant program. One year work experience in a pediatric or family focused clinical area. Required Credentials: For Nurse Practitioners: Active, unencumbered registered nurse and advanced registered nurse practitioner licensure in the State of Washington. Current national certification as a pediatric or family nurse practitioner For Physician Assistants: Active, unencumbered physician assistant licensure in the State of Washington Initial certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants For All Providers: Active Drug Enforcement Authority registration Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). Some clinical locations may require American Heart Association Pediatric Life Support training and continuous maintenance of certification. Active clinical privileges as an Allied Health Provider at Seattle Children's Hospital must be secured prior to time of hire and must be maintained in good standing and in compliance with all medical staff bylaws, continuously throughout employment. Preferred: Two years experience in advanced practice provider role Two years experience in pediatric health care Compensation Range $123,589 - $181,765 per year This position is currently eligible for an off-shift premium of up to 15% which would increase the total compensation of this role by an additional $18,538.39 to $27,264.82 per year. Relocation: Support available for qualified candidates Note: Compensation will be pro-rated based on final FTE Salary Information This compensation range was calculated based on full-time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity, skills, experience, and expertise, and may vary within the range provided.
