Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) Pediatric Oncology (APP Hybrid)

Position Summary: The Medical College of Wisconsin’s Department of Pediatrics , Division of Hematology, Oncology, Bone Marrow Transplant , is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide  care within the inpatient unit, specialty clinic, and day hospital.  The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) works as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team who will contribute to excellence in program administration, patient care, patient safety, research, quality improvement, and teaching.  Position Highlights: The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) works as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team, providing direct patient care to children under the care of the inpatient and outpatient oncology service. Services will be performed in the Inpatient and/or Outpatient Oncology unit with the potential to also provide support in the Day Hospital and/or Procedures unit. The primary patient population includes oncology patients, ranging from infants to young adults. Occasional flex to support BMT and/or Hematology services may be required. The APP will contribute to excellence in patient care, research, quality improvement, patient safety, and teaching. This role reports to the APP Manager Schedule: Full-time role with expectations for coverage during core business hours and flexibility required as necessary to accommodate clinical needs. Hours will be within the service’s typical hours of operation, ranging from 6am – 6pm, Monday-Friday. Weekend coverage will also be required. Minimum Education: Advanced Practice Nurse: Master’s Degree or higher in Nursing from a nationally accredited organization. Physician Assistant: Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Physician Assistant Studies from an ARC-PA-accredited organization.
