Description of Work
Do you enjoy our state parks and working as an office manager? The NC State Parks has an Administrative Specialist I position available. This position provides administrative support to the Park's Superintendent by managing business and office administration functions, to include communication, budget, human resources, purchasing/accounting, and records management. Position serves as a liaison between parks program management, district superintendents, and parks staff.
Key Responsibilities included but are not limited to:
• Function as the first point of contact for the general public and respond to inquiries in person, by phone, and/or through email and route calls to the appropriate party when necessary.
• Utilize the Central Reservation System (CRS) to process payments for reservations and retail sales.
• Accurately process invoices, reconcile payments, track and report on expenditure and revenues, and create and audit bank deposits.
• Acquire data to develop reports from a variety of data sources.
• Assist with the seasonal hiring process and function as a Time Administrator for seasonal and permanent staff and may supervise seasonal employees.
• Interpret and explain state and parks policies, procedures and regulations.
• Scheduling volunteers.

Recruitment Range: $39,244- $50,524 Annually

Candidates meet the minimum qualifications of this position if they meet the minimum education and experience listed on the vacancy announcement. Vacancy specific knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) and/or management preferences are not required. Applicants who possess the following are preferred:
Demonstrated experience in customer service in person, via email and/or over the telephone.
Demonstrated experience with filing systems and record keeping.
Demonstrated experience processing invoices.
Demonstrated experience working with any of the following budget, travel reimbursement, and/or financial reports.
Demonstrated work experience in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Position/Physical Requirements:
Typical work schedule Monday thru Friday 8:00 am -5:00 pm.
Must be available to work after hours, weekend, and holidays when necessary.
Must have a valid driver’s license issued from within the United States or be able to obtain one within 90 days of employment
