Description of Work
This position is assigned to Pasquotank Correctional Institution, Elizabeth City, NC Pasquotank County, providing clerical support in a correctional setting.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences
This position will provide office management for the Correctional Assistant Superintendent of Custody & Operations III and limited support for the Facility Intelligence, Support & Shift Captains, Lieutenants, and Food Service Supervisors. This position provides clerical and administrative assistance daily to include typing and transcriptions duties, correspondence management, record keeping and filing, database management maintenance, and telephone responsibilities. This position dispenses correspondence and other information to staff, process incoming and outgoing mail, and handles routine office activities.

Salary Range: $31,200 - $51,249
Candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they meet the minimum education and experience listed on the vacancy announcement. The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)/ Management Preferences are not required. Applicants who possess the following skills are preferred:
• Documented composition and communication skills (written and oral)
• Documented proficiency in Microsoft Office programs

Based upon these factors, a pay increase May result.
About the Division of Institutions :
The Division of Institutions manages the daily operations of all state-operated prison facilities across North Carolina. Facilities are categorized by custody levels (minimum, medium, close) and house individuals serving sentences for felony convictions. The division provides safety, security, and rehabilitative services through trained custody staff, program facilitators, and administrative personnel.
