Agency Dept of Administration Division Surplus Property Job Classification Title Administrative Associate II (S) Position Number 60014161 Grade NC02 About Us The NC Department of Administration is the business manager for North Carolina state government. The department oversees Government Operations such as building construction, purchasing and contracting for goods and services, maintaining facilities, managing state vehicles, acquiring and disposing of real property, and operating auxiliary services such as courier mail delivery and the sale of state and federal surplus property. Additionally, the department manages many of the state's advocacy programs that provide assistance and services to diverse segments of the state's population that have been traditionally underserved. Description of Work The North Carolina Department of Administration is seeking applicants for an Administrative Associate II, working title: Vehicle Associate, for our State Surplus Property division. This division offers surplus property received from state agencies and the University System to other state agencies in need, and/ or sells to qualifying non-profit organizations and the public. Employee will perform a variety of office and technical tasks. This includes processing DWI/Felony Speeding to Elude documents and reports, completing data entry and attending DWI/Felony Speeding to Elude auctions possibly three times each month. Employee will work with the Vehicle Administrator to conduct day to day operations in the absence of the Vehicle Coordinator. Key Responsibilities: - Ensure work is being performed correctly, timely, and is adhering to all applicable policies, procedures, and laws. - Interpret and implement established policies, procedures, regulations, and laws for the DWI/Felony Speeding to Elude Arrest program. - Attend vendor auctions as needed, one being held monthly on a Saturday. - Organize and record information into a database using various software programs, compile and edit data, and create comprehensive reports. - Excellent customer service is a priority. This position has extensive contact with vendors, other state agencies and the citizens of NC. - Assist the vehicle team with day-to-day operations as needed. - Additional duties as assigned. Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences This posting will close at 11:59pm the night before the end date. MAX SALARY FOR THIS POSITION IS: $40,514 Recruitment Range: $31,200-$40,514 NOTE: "See Resume" is not acceptable to show work history. Proficient in Microsoft Office. Demonstrated ability to independently interpret and apply relevant laws, departmental rules, and regulations. Proven attention to detail in work-related tasks, including maintaining accurate clerical records and producing legible written documentation. Able to prioritize tasks and adapt to sudden change in work assignments. MANAGEMENT PREFERENCE: Management prefers applicants with vehicle title experience Well-developed interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to record, compile, summarize, and perform basic analysis of data. NECESSARY REQUIREMENTS: Valid NC driver’s license. Clean driving record with no more than one minor infraction in the past five years. Out of state applicants must have a valid driver’s license or acquire a NC driver’s license within 90 days of hire. Candidate must present proof of a valid license and proof of an acceptable driving record upon hiring. Travel required, including occasionally attending a Saturday auction. Must be able to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions. Work may require physical exertion; applicants must have the ability to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
