The application window is expected to close on: 10/01/2026 Job Title: Account Executive – U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Location: DC Metro Area, Kansas City, MO, or Fort Collins, CO | Citizenship: U.S. Citizen required Meet the Team This role sits at the center of the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s digital and infrastructure modernization efforts. Supporting a diverse range of mission areas—from land management and conservation to food security and scientific research—this team is responsible for delivering the technology that powers one of the federal government's most critical operations. You will be joining a high-performing team within Cisco’s Federal Civilian sector dedicated to driving mission success through innovation. Position Impact As an Account Executive supporting the USDA, you will act as a strategic advisor to agency leadership. You will be responsible for driving the technical and business transformation of the department’s vast network, security, and data infrastructure. This position requires a proactive, "hunter" mindset to capitalize on imminent mission-critical opportunities while navigating the complexities of a multi-bureau environment. You will collaborate with an expert ecosystem of Architects and Engineers to deliver outcomes that scale from enterprise networking and secure access to hybrid cloud and AI-driven observability. Key Responsibilities: Develop and execute a multi-year strategic account plan that aligns with the USDA’s mission outcomes and budget cycles. Drive aggressive revenue growth across Cisco’s portfolio, including Enterprise Networking, Security, Collaboration, Observability, and Hybrid Cloud. Orchestrate cross-functional teams, including Pre-sales Engineering, Customer Experience (CX), and channel partners, to deliver holistic, mission-ready solutions. Cultivate and maintain deep relationships with key decision-makers, stakeholders, and C-suite leadership across USDA bureaus. Manage complex procurement cycles, providing the executive presence required to defend our position against aggressive competition and maintain long-term incumbency. Minimum Qualifications: 5+ years of successful Federal sales experience. BS/BA degree or equivalent experience. Residency in or ability to travel frequently to the DC Metro area, Kansas City, or Fort Collins. U.S. citizenship is required. Preferred Qualifications: Mission-Oriented Growth Mindset: A drive to understand the specific "why" behind the USDA’s mission and how technology enables that success. Strategic Leadership: Proven ability to influence across matrixed organizations and drive alignment toward shared agency outcomes. Consultative Expertise: A focus on identifying and addressing complex technical debt and business challenges through a long-term relationship-based approach. Analytical Rigor: Proficiency in account mapping, forecasting, and data-driven pipeline management.
